In addition, they attend training sessions to stay updated on homelessness, housing resources, application assistance, and overall gathering of resources for students and families.

The Homeless Education Prevention Support Staff is the first point of contact for patrons visiting the Nampa School District McKinney-Vento office, providing information, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls. They are responsible for controlling foot traffic at the Transition House, distributing correspondence to office staff, and categorizing and classifying prevention services for families experiencing homelessness.

In this role, the Homeless Education Prevention Support Staff also provides excellent customer service, communication, and organization of family needs and resources. They answer phones, screen calls, transfer calls, and take messages as appropriate, ensuring that patrons receive prompt attention and assistance.

This critical position is under the direction of the Federal Program Director and McKinney-Vento Liaison, working closely with full-time staff to provide comprehensive services to students and families in need. As a benefit, all full-time staff are eligible for low-deductible medical and vision insurance through the State of Idaho.
